Notes for Ralph Cox Jr. BUSSER

RALPH C. BUSSER JR., 85, a lawyer for more than 50 years, died Friday at Cathedral Village in Roxborough, where he had lived for 2 1/2 years. He was a resident of Germantown much of his life.
Mr. Busser started his law career in the early 1930s, first working in a partnership, Archbald & Busser, with Robert Wodrow Archbald Jr., his father- in-law.
Later the practice became Busser & Bendiner, and most recently Mr. Busser practiced on his own at offices on School House Lane in Germantown. He retired in 1984.
While maintaining his legal practice, Mr. Busser also devoted many hours to community work.
Among other things, Mr. Busser served as counsel for the Medical Club of Philadelphia, Inglis House and for St. Mark's Episcopal Church, where he was also a vestryman.
Mr. Busser had belonged for more than 50 years to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, and served on or chaired many committees.
He was a member of the Sharswood Law Club and the Rittenhouse Club.
Mr. Busser earned a bachelor's degree in 1925 and a master's degree in 1927 from the University of Pennsylvania and also taught classes at Episcopal Academy from 1925 to 1927. Later, in 1930, he earned law degree from University of Pennsylvania.
He was married to Eleanor Archbald Busser, who died in 1985.
Survivors: daughters, Marion W. Gourlay and Virginia B. Rynning; son, Robert A.; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three brothers.
