Notes for EvaLee JARRELL
Mom was born and raised in Colcord West Virginia. She was the only one in her family to ever graduate from high school. She graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1948. She started after high school to become a missionary then married and decided not to. Her first marriage ended in a divorce. She came to Delaware in 1951 after separating and later divorcing Andrew Dillon. She went to work at Continental Diamond Fiber Company which is where she met Sam Cole. They married in 1953 and lived in Newark Delaware the rest of their lives.
After he died, she went back to work. She was the main cook at the Post House Restaurant in Newark, Delaware. She had worked for the school district in the early sixties but then quit and was a baby sitter. The last year she worked was in 1984. She had a massive heart attack and was not allowed to return to work. She did live for eight more years with a very bad heart. She died in Christiana Hospital in Newark Delaware due to heart failure in 1992. She is buried in Newark Cemetery on New Street in Newark, next to her husband, Sam.
