Notes for Edward Samuel COLE

I had an old letter that my grandmother, Elizabeth B. Cole had written to her sister a few months after I was born. In that letter she mentions Edward as Tolberts youngest brother. He was listed last in the obituary, so I am also assuming they listed the names in birth order.

I have finally gotten the obituary for Samuel Edward Cole. In his obituary it states that he was also in the paper industry, he was a machinist and had received many high honors for his outstanding work. He was a member of Concordia Lodge, No 67, F. & A. M. of Philadelphia; Osceola Lodge, Knights of Pythias, of Newark Delaware; and the Newark Fire Company. He was also an active worker in the Methodist Church in Newark. At the time of his death, he was living with his sister, Ida Morrison. His obituary says that he was never married. Apparently, no one knew of his marriage in Connecticut and he never mentioned it for reasons unknown.
