Notes for William David SCOTT

William Scott came to Philadelphia the first time to find a place for his family to live. The first trip was made on September 2, 1848 and arrived in Philadelphia on October 2, 1849. He then went back to Ireland again on September 9, 1851 but the ship got lost at sea and never made port until October 23, 1851. They then later returned to Philadelphia.

William had been a mail carrier in Ireland. When he came to America, he spent his first five years as a stone cutter to pay for his passage to America. He died in Philadelphia Pa. sometime before 1883.
