Notes for John HALLOWELL

The founder of this branch of the American family was John HALLOWELL who with his wife, Mary Holland, dau. of Thomas Holland, arrived at Darby, Pennsylvania, from Hacknow, Parish of Sutton, Nottinghamshire, England, bringing a Quaker certificate dated 19th December, 1682. They afterward removed to Abington, Pennsylvania. The date of his or his wife's birth are not positively known.
