Notes for Anne Kirk BALDERSTON
Anne Balderston Peery, 63, Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, in Mt. Airy, Md., after a battle with cancer.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on September 25, 1947, to William and Evalyn Balderston, Anne is remembered for her loving, gentle, open heart and touching the lives of all who knew her. She loved being outdoors and cared deeply for nature. She spent the last 15 years working for the Mo. Dept. of Natural Resources; an Environmental Specialist focusing on improving Missouri's stream systems. Anne was active with Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers, Audubon Society, Missouri Stream Teams, Little Theater of Jefferson City and Unique & Radiant Ladies. She loved working in her garden, bicycle riding on the Katy Trail and walks at Runge Nature Center.
Anne is survived by her five children, Rocatta, Jonathan, Emerson, Mark and Sally; three step-children, Charles, Nate and Sylvia; seven grandchildren, Nancy, Mary, Shannon, Megan, Jack, Eli and Holden, and three sisters, Caroline, Susan and Laura.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m., at Goshen Friends Meeting, 814 N. Chester Road, West Chester, PA 19380.
For Anne's friends near Jefferson City, there will also be a memorial poetry reading Friday, June 24, mid-day (12:15) at Anne's Garden #10, located in the city's Community Gardens near Carl Noren Access off Hwy. 54/63. Friends may bring marigolds to plant in Anne's Garden.
