Edward P. Bromley, 94, retired vice president of North American Lace Co., died Saturday at Beaumont, a retirement community in Bryn Mawr.
Mr. Bromley grew up in Mount Airy. In 1934, after earning a bachelor's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he joined North American Lace Co. in North Philadelphia. His grandfather John Bromley had founded the firm in 1902. During World War II, the company switched from manufacturing lace curtains to producing camouflage fabric for the military. He retired in the 1960s.
Mr. Bromley served on the boards of Pennsylvania Hospital and the Shipley School in Rosemont and was a vestryman at the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Hancock Bromley; sons Edward Jr. and James; daughter, Binney Miller; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Redeemer, 250 Pennswood Rd., Bryn Mawr.
