Notes for Robert STEEL

Robert was a wealthy man. He owned several important pieces of real estate in Philadelphia, two of them being the ground on which the U.S. Mint now stands, and that on which the Museum of Fine Art was erected. Robert entertained Lafayette when he came to Philadelphia, driving him around in his carriage. The harness was gold mounted.
