Notes for Susanne F. MENDENHALL
Susanne M. Lukens, 94, of Lancaster, formerly of West Chester died November 8, 2017. She was born in West Chester, the daughter of the late Joseph Harlan Mendenhall and the late Catharine Charlton Frorer Mendenhall Mason. She was a graduate of Haverford Township High School and a 1942 graduate of Taylor Business School in Philadelphia. She attended Oklahoma A&M briefly while in the Navy. A veteran, she served in the US Navy WAVES from 1943 until 1946, stationed in New York City, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. She was predeceased by her husband Fred H. Lukens. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca L., wife of Chris Dunlap of Hummelstown, and Deborah L., wife of Everett Randall of West Chester; two sons, David L., husband of Donna J. of Lander, WY, and Fred H., Jr., husband of Mimi J., of West Chester; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Catharine M. Brown, of Harrisonburg, VA, and Maryanna Kuretski, a daughter of a previous marriage, of California, who has three children. Donations may be made to the Church of the Apostles, 1850 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 or the charity of your choice.
