Notes for Ruth L. HALLOWELL
Ruth L. McFarland of West Chester, PA Ruth L. McFarland, 90, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her home. She was the wife of the late Carl B. McFarland, Jr., who passed away in 1988. Born February 6, 1927 in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late D. Francis Hallowell and the late Edith Moore Hallowell. Ruth was a 1944 Graduate of West Chester High School and lived in West Chester all her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading and listening to music. Ruth also enjoyed watching the birds in her backyard, as well as Wheel of Fortune and old movies on the Turner Classic Movies Channel, and was an avid dog lover, especially her 2 grand dogs who lived with her, Fergus & Dougal. She is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen Chesnet (Howard) of Oxford, PA, Linda Smith (Ronald) and Amie Fisher (Scott), both of West Chester, PA; two granddaughters, Kathryn Smith of Honey Brook, PA and Robyn Smith of Downingtown, PA, and six other grandchildren. She also had 16 great-grandchildren, Dominic, son of Kathryn, and 15 others, as well as two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 North Church St., West Chester 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com for her visitation Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 9-11am followed by her Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Green Mount Cemetery, West Chester.
