Notes for Louis Floyd Jr. TREGO

Louis F. Trego, Jr., 82, of Churchtown, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late L. Floyd and Mary (Cunningham) Trego. He was married 57 years on June 14 to Frances J. (Harsh) Trego.

Louis retired after 44 years of service with the Lancaster County Court House where he worked with the Register of Wills and marriage licenses.

He was a member of the Churchtown United Methodist Church where he formerly taught Sunday school. He was also a member of the Caernarvon Fire Company where he formerly served as secretary, the Beartown Sportsman’s Club, and the Lancaster County Fireman’s Association. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Army and later he enjoyed antiques, tractors, and attending public sales.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters, Kathleen A., married to Barry White of South Carolina, and Jeanne F., married to William Beecken of Georgia; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is a sister, M. Caroline Imhoff.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12 at 11 am at Churchtown United Methodist Church, 2170 Main St., Churchtown, with the Rev. David M. Kling officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and on Friday from 10-11 am at the Church. If desired, contributions may be made to the Caernarvon Fire Company, 2145 Main St., Narvon, PA 17555.
