Notes for Emil A. Jr. SCHERR

Emil A. Scherr Jr., 80, of Malvern, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, after a short illness.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elaine Townsend Scherr.

Emil was a graduate of West Catholic High and then Drexel University, before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He retired as plant controller from the Burroughs Corp. after 35 years of service.

He was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Church in Malvern.

He loved golf, pool and was an avid reader.

In addition to his wife, Emil is survived by twin sisters, Sr. Mary W. Scherr, SSJ, and Sr. Marie A. Scherr, SSJ, as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews whom he dearly loved.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Emil's Life Celebration service from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 104 Channing Ave., Malvern.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.
