He was born to parents Allison Fosnocht and Mary Jane Goheen. He married Clareena "Rena" Gamble December 18, 1904 in Delaware. They had two sons, Walter Ellwood and Medford Allen. He worked for the railroads and was a minister for the M. E. Church.
