Notes for John M. HOOPES

1923-2016 John “Papa Jack” M. Hoopes, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2016 at his home in Boothwyn. He was raised in Folsom, Ridley Township and worked for PECO Energy as a power plant operator for 36 years. Jack proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and is a member of the VFW Post 7123 in Norwood. He was the son of the late James A. and Pearl L. (Hamor) Hoopes. SURVIVORS: His loving wife: Robineta Hoopes; children: Margaret (Kathy) Mateer, John (Jack) R. Hoopes, and James (Jim) A. Hoopes; stepdaughters: Michele, Monica, and April; stepson: Michael Land; 18 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. VISITATION: Thursday from 9:30 – 11:00am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday at 11am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd. BURIAL: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In Lieu of Flowers: Donations may be made in Jack’s name to the National WWII Museum at www.nationalww2museum.org or to Crozer-Keystone Hospice at 175 E. Chester Pike, Ridley Park 19078.
