Katherine Sheneman Ford of Landenberg Katherine Sheneman Ford, 101, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA. Kay and her sister Tillie Bicking Sheneman were born 2 years apart in Anselma, PA, the daughters of Charles Homer and Lillie Bicking Sheneman. Two years after Kay was born the family relocated to West Miner Street in West Chester, PA. She graduated from West Chester High School, Pierce Business School and Temple University’s College of Liberal Arts. Kay was later employed by Temple University’s School of Nursing followed by Prudential Insurance Company. After her marriage to George Raymond Ford, Jr. of Wilmington, DE she and Raymond moved to Wilmington where they had two children, Gary Lauman and Lynn Sheneman. Kay and her family moved to Cleveland, OH and then to Atlanta, GA over a 12 year period. Following the death of her husband Kay returned to Wilmington, DE where she was employed for 20+ years at the DuPont Company’s Engineering and Development Laboratory. Kay was an avid gardener and truly enjoyed her azaleas. Her hobbies through the years included sewing, flower arranging and the piano. She is predeceased by her parents, by her sister, by her husband and by her son. Kay is survived by her daughter Lynn Sheneman Ford of Landenberg and her sister-in-law Helen Lambert of Milford, DE. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday July 8, 2016 at the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, 1235 S. Birmingham Rd., West Chester, PA 19382. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Purring Pals Rescue, 406 Suburban Dr., PO Box 110, Newark, DE 19711; to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E.
