Ethel L. Garnett, formerly of Coatesville

Ethel L. Garnett, 84, formerly of Coatesville, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at the Coatesville VA Medical Center.

She was the wife of George Saddler Garnett Jr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Caln, she was the daughter of the late Percy William and Grace Lightcap.

Ethel served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

She was employed as a cashier for Acme Co., Newberry's and McCrory's, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Olivet United Methodist Church, the Women's International Bowling Congress, Pennsylvania State Women's Bowling Association and served as president and board member of the Coatesville Women's Bowling Association.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
