Notes for Virginia E. CONARD

Virginia Conard Ashton of West Chester Virginia Conard Ashton, 99, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Barclay Friends. She was the wife of the late Earle B. Ashton, who passed away in 1991. Born in Jennersville, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Edith Harward Conard. Virginia was a graduate of Unionville High School and West Chester State Teachers College. She taught at Green Tree School in Willistown and also in the West Chester Area School District. After retirement she volunteered at the Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess; The Wentworth, where she was on the Board of Directors; and Chester County Hospital, where she served on the May Festival and Chester County Day Committees and as an Ambassador. Virginia is survived by her children, Sandra Heim (Thomas), Kathleen Denison (Richard) and James (Jane); grandchildren, Dawn Tittelmayer (Wallace), Christine Haertsch (William) and Brian Ashton (Nicole); great grandchildren, Daniel, Sydney, Taylor, Morgan, Samuel; and sister, Margaret Mason. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at The Baptist Church of West Chester, 221 South High Street, West Chester, PA 19382. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to The Baptist Church of West Chester at the above address; or to The Chester County Hospital Foundation, 701 E. Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
