Notes for Phillip Wayne PYLE
Mr. Phillip Wayne Pyle, age 72, of Mojave Valley, AZ, formerly of Newark, DE, and Elk Mills, MD, died on Monday, October 20, 2008, at Valley View Medical Center in Ft. Mojave, AZ.
Born in Wilmington on June 28, 1936, son of the late Edward M. Pyle and Ethel Buckingham Pyle, Wayne was a graduate of Newark High School.
In 1965 he accepted a position with (the former) Ametek in Marshallton, where he made his career until retirement in 2000.
Wayne enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout his life, including collecting coins, reading and fishing. He was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He particularly looked forward to playing golf and then mischievously improving his scores later.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Mullins Pyle; daughters, Edith Williams and husband, Vince, Penny McSwain and husband, Bill; a grandson; and seven siblings, Barbara Comer, Lois Yoder, Edward Pyle, Richard Pyle, Ron Pyle, Kenneth Pyle, and Bruce Pyle. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Pyle.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, October 27, 2008, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in the adjoining mausoleum.
