Wilhelmus C. Hoogerwerff Jr. of Coatesville Wilhelmus C. “Bill” Hoogerwerff Jr. passed away on September 6, 2015 at the Coatesville V.A. facility. He was 92 years old. Born in Philadelphia on September 1, 1923 and was the son of the late Wilhelmus C. Sr. and Charlotte “Lottie” Baines Newlin. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and was proudly part of the 101st Airborne / Screaming Eagle. He is survived by his daughter; Elvamae (George)Schmidt, his son; Wilhelmus C. “Bill” Hoogerwerff III, his sister; Margaretta Hoogerwerff, and his brother; John Hoogerwerff. Also survived by 6 grandsons, 6 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends invited to his viewing Monday September 14, 2015 from 11:00 – 12:00 Noon followed by funeral service 12 Noon at the Logan Funeral Home 698 East Lincoln Hwy (Route 30 at Ship Rd) Exton, PA 19341. Burial at Washingtons Crossing Veterans Cemetery , Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers donations in Bill’s memory may be made to a “no kill” animal shelter of choice.
