Notes for Margaret WOERNER
Margaret "Marguerite" Woerner Allmond Age 95 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at her residence.
She was born on July 20, 1907 in Wilmington, DE to the late Joseph and Agnes Woerner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Allmond Jr.; and her brothers, James, Frank, William and Aloysius Woerner. Mrs. Allmond had resided in the Wilmington area most of her life, and moved to Rehoboth Beach in 1973. She was a homemaker and graduate of Wilmington High School, where she was salutatorian of her class. Mrs. Allmond was also a graduate of Goldey Business College. She worked as a secretary before her marriage and enjoyed needlecraft, gardening and traveling, but her true passion was her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Marguerite Racaniello of Largo, FL, Jean Johns of Rehoboth Beach and Susan and Paul Rowe of West Burke, VT; as well as grandsons, Michael Allmond Johns of Eugene, OR, David Charles Johns and his wife, Janet of Elkridge, MD, Daniel Foster Johns and his wife, Sheila of Melbourne, FL and Robert Douglas Johns and his wife, Imelda of the Philippines. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 18 in the First and Central Presbyterian Church, 11th & Market Sts., Wilmington, where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be in Wilmington Brandywine Cemetery.
