Notes for Elaine Louise WHERRY
1930-2015 Elaine Louise (Wherry) McKinney passed away in her sleep on Thursday 3/12/15 surrounded by her family. A graduate of Swarthmore High School, Elaine was born and raised in Swarthmore, the daughter of optometrist, Dr. W. Niven Wherry, a past President of the Optimist Club of Chester. Elaine enjoyed raising her family in Media participating in bowling leagues, gardening, and travelling with her husband, Matt, on a variety of trips all over the world together. Elaine is predeceased by her husband, Matthew H. McKinney, Jr.; her sisters Janice Boyce and Rosalie Jones; and her nephew, Robert C. Messmer, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Judy McKinney of Media, Pa. and Jennifer Dawn Rhood, of New London Township, Pa. Son-in-law, Stuart A. Rhood; and grandchildren Justin M. Rhood (w.Jennifer Rhood), Kyle S. Rhood, and Blake S. Rhood; nieces, Patricia Boyce and Bonnie Bourne LaCross; and nephews James Boyce, Wesley Bourne, Gary Bullard and Steven Bullard.
