John J. "Jack" Barry, 75, of White Haven, Pa., a former Eddystone resident who was devoted to his family, died May 24 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Wilkes Barre.

Born in Tamaqua, Pa., Mr. Barry was a resident of White Haven for 12 years.

He was a sales representative for Scott Paper Foam Division for 33 years, retiring in 1983.

Mr. Barry was a Navy veteran of World War II, having received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.

He was a past member and commander of the American Legion Post No. 844 in Eddystone. Also, he was president of the Pocono Mountain Lake Association.

Additional memberships included Mahoning Valley Golf Course Tuesday Night League and St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in White Haven. He was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Eddystone, where he sang on the choir, served as a lecture and bowled on the church league.

He was the widower of Joan A. Herron Barry, who died in 1990 and the son of the late Robert and Gertrude Kennedy Barry.

Survivors: His wife of seven years, Alfreda P. Yarnall Baron Barry daughters, Gail A. Orio of Ridley Park, Kathy J. Keys of Arnold, Md., Janine R. Iannacci of Eddystone Joan E. Dugan of Ridley Township and Jacquelyn R. Urey of Upper Chichester brother, Robert "Skip" Barry of Eddystone and 11 grandchildren.

Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Simpson Street and Chester Pike, Eddystone.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30-9:15 a.m. Wednesday, the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
