Martha C. Dague, 84, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2007, after a brief illness.

Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Laura J. and Norman B. Coates and sister to Walter L. Coates, who preceded her in death.

She was the loving and devoted wife of Parke M. Dague. They observed their 63rd anniversary in October of last year.

No one could have asked for a more loving and faithful wife and mother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Parke; daughters, Linda, married to John Garner of Lancaster, and Ruth, wife of Bruce Cosman of Prospect, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Daniel L. Garner and wife, Julia, Andrew S. Garner and wife, Kristina, Cecil P. Cosman and wife, Michelle, Aaron Cosman and wife, Tiffany, and Tammy L. Cosman Magnusson; and great-grandsons Jude M. Garner and John Harvey Magnusson.

She attended school in Avondale, Villanova and Beacom College in Wilmington, Del.

She worked for Marine Construction Co. of Delaware, Zinn's Diner and Betty Brite in Thorndale.

She had served on Faith Theological Women's Society, Lancaster Bible College Woman's Guild, Caln Civic Club, and Linwood, N.J.'s Flower Club.

She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served as pianist and youth leader at Coatesville Bible Presbyterian Church and West Chester Bible Baptist Church. Most recently she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster.

Marty loved her family, quilting, sewing and crafts. Her motto was, ‘When life gives you scraps, make quilts.'

She enjoyed trips to the shore and frequent winters in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at the Friendship United Methodist, 123 E. Friendship Church Road, Coatesville on Tuesday, June 12, at 11 a.m., with Chaplain Dr. Russel Fry and the Rev. Dale Palmer officiating.

The family will gather at the Friendship United Methodist Cemetery.

Friends are to visit with the family at the fellowship meal at the church, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Calvary Baptist Church, 331 Milton Road, Lancaster, PA 17603; Community Bible Church, Leacock and Irishtown roads, Gordonville, PA 17529; or the Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg.
