Notes for Samuel H. DOWLAND
Son of Sheridine Dowland and Susanna Clark. He resided all of his life in West Nottingham township, Chester County, PA. Married Roselean (or Rosaline) Slicer around 1860, and they were the parents of fourteen children; Helen, Sides, Lewis, Margaret, John, Keziah, Samuel, James, Harry, Mary, Tyson, Alice, Jesse, and Mearns.
In addition to being a farmer, Samuel was an auctioneer, and called sales in Chester County, PA and Cecil County, MD, for over half a century. He died a few months short of his 78th birthday, and was buried not far from his life long home.
