Notes for Carolyn Elizabeth MENDENHALL
Carolyn E. Mendenhall (Lynch), 79, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, died on April 30, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born to Warren and Mary Ann Kirkpatrick Mendenhall, Carolyn was a graduate of The Tatnall School. An avid scholar of antique furniture and silver, Chinese porcelain, and oriental rugs, Carolyn was a staff Guide at Winterthur Museum over the last 50 years. She also had careers in banking and securities trading.
While Carolyn was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed international travel, the greatest pleasure and achievement in her life was raising her family. She was the wife of the late Raymond A. Lynch, and is survived by her 3 children: David W. Lynch, Gay E. Lynch, and Barbara A. Samson; and 3 grandchildren.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, May 8 at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville (Route 202, south of Silverside Rd.)
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Winterthur Museum, 5105 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807.
