Notes for Mary Jane PYLE
Mary Jane Young, age 93, of Wilmington, passed away on Wed., February 19, 2014 at Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Young was born on September 28, 1920 in Wilmington, DE to the late Robert E. Pyle, Sr. and Mary Frances (Price) Pyle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Walter T. Young, in 2004; and three brothers, Robert E. Pyle, Jr. in 2013; Charles H. Pyle, Sr. in 2010; and James E. Pyle in 1984.
Jane was raised in Arden, DE, and being a member of Girl Scout Troop 12, had the honor of meeting Eleanor Roosevelt when she visited Arden on April 25, 1935. Jane graduated from Claymont High School in 1939 and later in life, enjoyed working many years in the cafeteria of the Mt. Pleasant School District. She was a member of the Delaware Doll and Toy Collectors Club of the North Wilmington area and took great pride in her doll collection. Jane was a member of Chester Bethel United Methodist Church, 2619 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane Fulks (Bob) of Rehoboth Beach, and Nancy Yarnall of Wilmington; three grandchildren; and many loving and caring nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
