Notes for William Henry Jr. LUKENS

Lukens, William H., Jr., 85, of Stone Harbor, New Jersey passed away peacefully at the Crest Haven Rehabilitation Center. William was born in Benvenue near Duncannon, PA. He lived most of his youth in Lemoyne and attend Lemoyne High School. He served as a Navy Medical Technician in the Pacific during World War II, including Iwo Jima during the famous raising of the flag. Upon his return from the service he married Maryjane Knerr and moved to Baltimore to work for Esskay Meat Packing. He later took ownership of Spot-A-Pot, Inc. for 45 years. After selling the business in 2008, he moved from Bel Air, MD to Stone Harbor, NJ where the family had vacationed since 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Maryjane, of 64 years; son, Jeffrey of Stone Harbor; daughter, Cheryl Oleferuk (Harry) of Swainton, NJ; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his sister, Doris Shenck of Wormleysburg, Pa, and brother, Norman of Wyomissing, PA.
