Notes for Marie T. MATLUSKY

Marie T. Hoopes-Kitchen, 78, of Wilmington, DE and Vero Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with Mesothelioma.
Marie was born in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Albert J. Matlusky and Margaret Kalvinsky Matlusky. She was a 1951 graduate of A.I. duPont High School, and attended Goldey Beacom College, after which she worked for Atlas Powder Company before becoming a homemaker. Marie was a loving mother and wife who took great pride in her family. She enjoyed water color painting and being with her many friends in Wilmington and Vero Beach, FL. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her husband Jim.
Marie was also predeceased by her husband, George B. Hoopes and her brother, Eugene Matlusky. She is survived by her husband, James E. Kitchen; sons, John A. Hoopes and his wife Leah, Paul L. Hoopes and his wife Tracey, daughter, Ann Marie Fairbank and her husband Stuart of Old Sayebrook, CT; sister, Joan M. Nestor of Venice, FL, step-daughters, Karen A. Studer and Theresa M. Backus and her husband Tom; four grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Maggie, Stephanie, Courtney and Katie Hoopes and four step-grandchildren, Sarah Studer and Christy, Kelly and Tyler Backus.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 27th, at 11:00am in Hockessin United Methodist Church, 7250 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 to 11:00 am.
