Richard R. Bitts, Sr., formerly of Honey Brook Richard R. Bitts, Sr., 87, of Lancaster, formerly of Honey Brook, passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy on Friday, August 22, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Geraldine M. (Brinton) Bitts, who died in 2011. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Dorothy Mae (Brighton) Bitts. Richard was a retired truck driver for Eastern Prestressed Concrete Systems, Hatfield. He was a member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church and was a proud U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and traveling by car throughout the United States. He will be lovingly missed by his four children, Carole married to Monte Keefer, of Tallahassee, Fla., Tina Schadewald, of Lancaster, Sharon married to Willis Jones, of Honey Brook and Richard Bitts, Jr., of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lucille Reisinger of Marticville and Jean Lausch of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jesse H. Bitts, Harry H. Bitts, Jr., Robert C. Bitts, Wyatt M. Bitts and Doris M. Erisman. Funeral Services will be held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 320 Blue Rock Road, Route 999, Millersville, PA 17551, on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. (Viewing 9 to 10 a.m.) with Pastor James F. Price officiating. Interment will be in the Green Hill United Methodist Cemetery, Conestoga, Pa
