Shirley H. Sharpless, 80 Shirley H. Sharpless, 80 of Cape Coral, FL died on June 19, 2012 at Physicians Regional Hospital in Naples, FL. Born to the late Leroy and Elsie Whitby Dowd, she was raised in Chester, PA. A 1949 graduate from Chester High School, Mrs. Sharpless met and married her husband of 63 years, settled in the Brookhaven/ Aston area and also lived in Wilmington DE. She was a past member of the Brookhaven Women's Club, the Women's Republican Organization of Aston, Siloam Methodist Church & the Cape Coral First United Methodist Church. Prior to moving to Cape Coral, FL, Shirley retired from the Crozer Chester Medical Center in the Nursing Supervisor Office. She is preceded in death by brother, Earl Dowd and sister, Jean Southworth. Survivors: Husband, Matthew E. Sharpless; daughter, Sandra Parkerson; brother, Howard Dowd; grandchildren, Rachel, Joshua and Katie; 4 great grandchildren. Graveside Services: Friday June 29, 2012, 12 Noon, Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery, Garnet Valley, PA.
