Notes for William P. CHANDLER

William P. Chandler Sr. of Kennett Square William P. Chandler, Sr., 88, of Kennett Square, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was the husband of Wilma Scott Chandler, who passed away in 1995, and with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Centerville, Del., he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Dorothy E. Sweed Chandler. He has lived in Kennett Square since 1947. Bill attended A.I. DuPont High School. He was one of the first employees of the General Motors Assembly Plant on Boxwood Road. He retired in 1987 after 39 years and 9 months of service. He is survived by three sons, William P. Chandler, Jr. and his wife Carol of New Garden, Michael S. Chandler of Kennett Square and Donald R. Chandler of Hockessin, Del.; one brother, Joseph H. Chandler, Jr. and sister-in-law, Abby Chandler; ten grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Robert G. Chandler. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square (Phone: 610-444-4116). His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
