Notes for Barbara HAYES
BARBARA HAYES AMBLER, age 80, formerly of Wayne PA, passed away on May 26, 2006, at Kendal at Longwood in Kennett Square PA, where she had lived since 1992. She was the wife of the late William W. Ambler, who passed away in 1995 and with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Peking, China, she was the daughter of the Late John David Hayes and the late Barbara M. Kelman Hayes. Mrs. Ambler received a B.A. degree from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio and a Masters degree in Library Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She worked at the Free Library of Philadelphia, the Memorial Library of Radnor Township in Wayne, and she was school librarian for the Wayne Elementary School. She enjoyed reading, watching sports on T.V., and needlework.
She is survived by one brother, John K. M. Hayes of Belmont MA; one sister, Margaret Hollister of Wash-ington DC; 16 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on June 11, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the auditorium at Kendal at Longwood, Route 1, Kennett Square, PA. Interment will be private. Contri-butions may be made in Mrs. Ambler's memory to the Memorial Library of Radnor Township,
