Notes for Margaret Louise BRICE

Margaret Louise Olmstead of West Chester Margaret Louise Olmstead, 93, of West Chester, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Chester County Hospital after a brief illness. Better known as 'Margie' or 'Peggy' to those who loved her, Margaret was born to Mary Rambo Chandler and William Berchell Brice, in West Chester, where she resided all her life. After graduating from West Chester High School in 1935, Margaret later went on to be employed by the County of Chester for many years of productive service. Margaret was full of adventure traveling abroad to Rome, Germany, and Ireland, and especially enjoyed her riverboat cruising up and down the Mississippi River. Margie loved her family more than anything else, and her favorite past time was spent enjoying their company. Peggy was an avid reader always staying well informed. Up to the very end of her rich life, she kept her keen sense of humor. It seemed that Margie's life was highlighted and defined by the many beautiful years of marriage she treasured and remembered with the love of her life, Harold N. 'Olmie' Olmstead, who sadly passed away in 1966. Margie loved sharing the memory of her Fort Knox, Kentucky marriage to 'Olmie', February 23, 1942, just weeks before 'Olmie' shipped out for service in WWII. Margaret was known dearly as 'Aunt Margie' to her niece, Linda Pryor, who passed away in 1981. Margie is survived by her son, Stephen, her four grandchildren, Julie, Joshua, Joseph, Jessica, and her great grandson, Skyler. In addition, Margaret is remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family including, Connie, Nannie, Buzzy, Andy S., Stefanie, Matthew, Daniel, Jackie, Christopher, Andrew P., Jason, Punkin, Andy B., Birch, Mary, Gary, Bobby, Libby, Betty, and Una. There are many other nieces, nephews, and life-long friends that Margie adored with all her heart and soul. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 S. High St., West Chester, 610-696-0134, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Barclay Friends, 700 North Franklin Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
