RETIRED STOCKBROKER, 69 Henry McKean Ingersoll, 69, a retired stockbroker, died of cancer Sunday at his home in Bryn Mawr.
Born on Oct. 29, 1929, the day of the stock market crash, Mr. Ingersoll had a career as a stockbroker, first with Merrill Lynch, and later with Smith Barney & Co., where he became senior vice president of sales. He retired five years ago after more than 30 years with the firm.
Mr. Ingersoll attended St. Paul's School in Concord, N.J., where he participated in track and field. For more than 30 years, he held the school's high-jump record. He also attended Princeton University.
He was a captain of the First Troop Philadelphia City Calvary and served in West Germany with the 28th Infantry during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Quinlan Ingersoll; son, H. Warren; daughters, Charlotte I. Ely and Agnes I. Do Rosario; stepdaughter, Lindsay C. Scott; stepson, Craig W. Cullen Jr.; six grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Church of the Redeemer, Pennswood and New Gulph Roads, Bryn Mawr. Burial will be in the churchyard there.
