Anna L. Smedley was educated in the public school at Tanguy, Delaware Co., Pa. and graduated in 1899 from the Abington Friends School, Jenkintown, Pa. After attending Swarthmore College for two years she taught in the Gwynedd and Darby Friends Schools. From 1944 to 1952 she was with the American Friends Service Committee in Philadelphia, Pa. Later she worked with various Friends projects of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends.
