Notes for John Taylor SYDNOR

True abstracts certified by F. W. Sydnor, F. A. G. S., to wit:
"Virginia State Library, Archives Dept.
Dinwiddie County, Land Tax Books.
The name of JOHN SYDNOR is charged with 250 acres of land which he received by the will of his uncle John Sydnor, until 1811. For the year 1811 we find he has acquired an additional 61 acres on Hatchers Run, and in the year 1815 these same two tracts of land are charged to him as JOHN T. SYDNOR. He acquired other tracts and in 1848 we find charged as the 'Estate of JOHN T. SYDNOR' five tracts, 703 1/2 acres on Hatchers Run, 100 acres on Whiteoak Creek and 50 acres on Whiteoak Creek, or a total of 1, 058 1/2 acres.
JOHN T. SYDNOR died intestate, in 1847, and the year 1848 is the last year we find his estate charged on the books of the Commissioner. His lands were distributed among his heirs, and for the year 1849 we find three of his grandsons charged with that part which would have gone to their mother, ELIZABETH SYDNOR YOUNG. JOHN T. S. YOUNG, THAD S. A. [sic should be Thad L. H., my great grandfather] YOUNG AND CHARLES W. U. YOUNG are jointly charged with 200 acres of land 6 miles N. W. from the Courthouse, the marginial note reads 'From the Est. of JNO. T. SYDNOR by Decree of Court.

N. B. The Dinwiddie County Chancery Book in which the aforesaid Decree was entered can not be found, either by myself or the Clerk of the Court, and is assumed to have been destroyed during the War Between the States."
