Notes for Evelyn Belle FORWOOD
Evelyn Forwood Pierce, age 91, of Lenni Heights, Middletown Twp., PA, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. Evelyn was born in Concord, PA in 1924 and was a graduate of H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School. She was the daughter of the late William M. and Evelyn E. (Quigley) Forwood.
Evelyn worked as bookkeeper in her husband's plumbing and heating business, Ormsby & Pierce, Inc. in Lenni, PA. She was a woman of faith, who cherished her church and was a lifelong member of the Crozerville United Methodist Church, where she served on the administrative board. Evelyn was actively involved with the Concord Needlework Guild and was a member of the Eastern Star, West Chester Chapter #352. She loved her family and friends. Evelyn's grandchildren were her delight and she especially enjoyed spending time with them.
She was the wife of the late Ralph I. Pierce, who died in 1986, and the mother of the late, Ralph I. Pierce, Jr., who died in 1996.
Survivors: Sons: Allen W. Pierce (Susan LaCour) and Edward L. (Deborah) Pierce; Daughter: Betsy (Augie) DiCostanza; Five grandchildren and Two great-grandsons.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, 11:00 AM, at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, 4020 Concord Road, Aston, PA.
Visitation: Wednesday, 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM at the church.
Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA.
