Notes for Howard Joseph FORWOOD

MILLSBORO — Howard J. Forwood, of Millsboro, formerly of Bridgeville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He was 83.

He was born Jan. 16, 1926, in rural West Chester, Pa., son of the late Howard Miller and Laura (Britten) Forwood.

Mr. Forwood had worked as a self-employed carpenter, he was known for his excellent work in cabinetry. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Greenwood VFW Post 7478 and the American Legion Nanticoke Post 6. He was devoted to his dachshunds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty S. Forwood (March 1997).

He is survived by three brothers, John and Harley Forwood, both of Pennsylvania and Lewis Forwood of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
