John Starr, whose father is said to have served in the Parliament Army as a captain of infantry, and to have removed to Ireland, resided at Old Castle, County Meath. By Mary, his wife, he had children: John b....1674; James b. ...1676; George b....1679; Mary b....1682; Elizabeth b. ...1684; Susanna b...1686; Jeremiah b....1690; Moses b....1692; Isaac b....1697.
In 1679, John Starr and William Haddock, of Parish of Magheragall, County Antrim, suffered persecution for tithes. - Stockdale, A Great Cry of Oppression, pg. 120.
