Notes for Charlotte T. GROSSO

Charlotte "Jill" Grosso DiNicola was born in Philadelphia, the middle child of Vincent and Charlotte "McEntee" Grosso. She was named after her mother, but was always called "Jill". She had an older brother Vincent J. Grosso, JR and younger sister Debra. Jill loved animals of all kind, and grew up in Folsom, Pennsylvania. She had two horses named Lady and Randy, and a beloved dog named Sparky, who she adored. She was an accomplished and natural equestrian, and rode every weekend. Jill could play the piano beautifully, and played in many recitals, and continued playing into adulthood. She graduated from Ridley Township High School in 1966, and was a distinguished member of The World Affairs' Council there. She was employed at Boeing Vertol in Essington, Pennsylvania, and was a valued employee and colleague. Jill was always dressed beautifully, and was truly an exquisite woman. Jill was well travelled and had been to seven European countries. She married Peter P. DiNicola, and had one daughter, Chantal DiNicola Smith. Chantal was the light of her life. Jill enjoyed dressing her with style, and putting bows in her hair. Her daughter was her world. They had a new home built, and resided in the Brandywine Hills section of Pocopson Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Jill had kidney problems as a toddler, which resurfaced after she had a child. Her devoted mother, Charlotte "McEntee" Grosso, donated a kidney to her daughter in May of 1972 at the Medical College of Virginia. The surgery was successful, however, Jill developed spinal meningitis and died four months later.
Jill shall aways be forever young and beautiful. She was the best MOTHER any child could ever ask for. And that is what she would want as her legacy, being the mother of her beloved daughter, Chantal. For the record, Chantal is French for Charlotte.
