Notes for Jack R. BOWMAN

Jack R. Bowman of East Vincent died Jan. 22, 2008, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Upper Providence. He was 85.
Born in Broadway, Va., he was a son of the late Shearer and Nellie (Grabille) Bowman. He was the husband of Jane D. (Hicks) Bowman.
A veteran, Mr. Bowman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked for more than 40 years at Dana Corp. in Pottstown, before retiring in 1983.
He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chester Springs.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bowman is survived by three daughters, Susan B. Ritschard of East Coventry, Sara A. Bowman and Joy E. Thompson, both of Phoenixville; four sisters, Carolyn Hixon of Royersford, Dorleen Clair and Dorothy Cullum, both of Pottstown, and Nell Miller of South Carolina; three brothers, Donald Bowman of Royersford, Lee Bowman of Pottstown and Kenneth Bowman of Royersford; and five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rena Hill; and four brothers, Shearer Bowman, Norwood Bowman, Frank Bowman and Larry Bowman.
A funeral service was held at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1239 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425 on Jan. 28 with the Rev. Ronald P. Wesemann officiating.
Interment was in St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chester Springs.
