Notes for James Thomas GRUBB

Narrative from The Grubb Family of Grubb's Landing, Delaware:
James Grubb(D4-64) (c1785 - 1860) was a shoemaker who lived in Mill Creek Hundred until the 1820s when he moved to Wilmington. He first married on January 19, 1808 to Elizabeth Griffin and had at least three sons.

On April 8, 1828, James married his second wife, Ann Perkins (1810 - aft 1880) who was twenty-five years his junior. They had four sons. In the 1850 census, his property in Wilmington was assessed at $5,000. According to the 1870 census Ann lived with her son William in Wilmington then according to the 1880 census Ann lived with her son Evan in Philadelphia.
