Thomas Lightfoot JEWETT, b. in Harford County, Maryland, 9th April, 1809, d. in New York City 3d November, 1876, was a partner of Edwin M. STANTON, Secretary of War under LINCOLN; m. (firstly) 11th April 1837, Jane Gilman BELKNAP, d. 3d February, 1838, dau. of Maurice and Jane (GILMAN) BELKNAP; m. (second) 18th May, 1843, Ann HAINES, b. 11th December, 1812, d. 13th April, 1898, dau. of John and Mary (BEBONT) HAINES; he the son of John and Susanna (JUDGE) JEWETT, of Harford County, Maryland, descendant of Deacon Maximilian JEWETT, of Rowley, Massachusetts, son of Edward JEWETT, b. in Bradford West Riding, of Yorkshire, England, circa 1580, m. 1st October, 1604, Mary TAYLOR, dau. of William TAYLOR.
