Jimmy M. Stargell of Albemarle County, died on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the farm where he was born on January 17, 1932. Preceding him in death were his parents, James Andrew and Stenna Bishop Stargell; brothers, Robert, Kirkwood and Meryel Grey Stargell; sisters, Rachel Stargell Lupton, Nancy Stargell Hamner and Faith Stargell Payne; brothers-in-law, Frederick Lupton, Harold Hamner, Ivan Payne; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Anderson Stargell, Bernice Trevilians Stargell and Evelyn Carwile Stargell. Surviving him are his wife, Janice Edwards Stargell; daughter, Carlin Grey Stargell Camp of Charlottesville; sons, Kevin Matthew Stargell and his wife, Jessica Ouellette Stargell of Midlothian, Virginia, and James Bishop Stargell and his wife, Lucretia Finlay Stargell, of Bryson City, North Carolina; grandchildren, Annie and Penn Camp, Jake and Rett Stargell, and Stenna and Emily Grey Stargell; brother, Hollis R. Stargell and his wife, Elizabeth; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
