All Plate marked with first wife's Family Coat of Arms quartered with his own he gives to his three surviving daughters of first wife. Property in Phila. purchaed of John Penn, Esq., and his country place near Germantown which he purchased of Blair McClenachan, called Cliveden, he leaves to his wife and his only son Benjamin. Sold to James Gallaghar a house in Phila., built by himself on lot belonging to his wife. Appoints sons-in-law Edward Tilghman and Philip Nicklin execs. in case of death of son Benjamin. Unmarried daughters Anna Maria Chew, Henrietta Chew, Maria Chew and Catharine Chew. Married daughters Sarah Galloway wife of John, Margaret Howard wife of John Eager Howard, Juliana Nicklin and Sophia Philips. Negroes George, Jesse, Harry, Sarah and David. Son-in-law Charles Carroll, Jr., husband of daughters. Harriet. Children of dec'd daughters. Marry Wilcocks. Codicil alters legacies to his daughters to provide more fully for daughter Juliana Nicklin who has been left a widow with six children. Legacy to granddaughters Mary Tilghman daughter of said daughter Elizabeth Tilghman. Aug 8, 1809. Execs: said Wife Elizabeth Chew and son Benjamin. Wit: William Tilghman, Edward Burd, James Gibson.
