Deceased Name: G. Winfield Yarnall
G. Winfield Yarnall of 30 W. Lauer Lane, Hampden Twp., died Tuesday in Harrisburg Hospital.

He was a retired physician, a former director of health for the former Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing, former president of the staff at Harrisburg Hospital, former medical director of the Blue Shield of Pennsylvania; served on the staff of the Philadelphia Freemasons Hospital; had teaching appointments at Hahnemann Medical College affiliate at Harrisburg Hospital and at the Penn State College of Medicine at Hershey Medical Center; a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Chest Physicians, American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, American College of Physicians and Harrisburg Academy of Medicine; a member and former president of Dauphin County Medical Society; a member and former secretary of Pennsylvania Medical Society and a member and former president of Medical Bureau of Harrisburg. He received the Seibert Memorial Award in 1962 from the Harrisburg Academy of Medicine.

He also was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg Lodge 629 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple, Harrisburg Kiwanis Club, Executive Club of Central Pennsylvania and the West Shore Country Club. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Dickinson College, University of Pennsylvania Medical School and the New York University School of Medicine and a captain and a battalion surgeon in the World War II Army Medical Corps.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret R. Yarnall; two sons, G. Winfield Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind., and Thomas P. of Sudbury, Mass; two daughters, Elizabeth Y. Jury of New Cumberland and Melissa Y. Schreck of Camp Hill; three stepsons, Lloyd R. Persun of Bowmansdale, John A. Persun of Chambersburg and Andrew M. Persun of Mechanicsburg and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in his church. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
