Notes for Edward Pyle FREDERICK

Edward (“Ed”) Pyle Frederick, age 92, of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Unit at Christiana Hospital, Newark, Delaware.

Ed was born in Wilmington in 1926, son of the late Edward Maris Frederick and Marian Talley Frederick. Ed attended A. I. duPont High School and served in the U S Army. He worked in the family business, Frederick’s Country Store, which after much work and many years became Frederick’s Country Center, with retail stores. Ed was a member of Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church and was a member of Eureka-DuPont Lodge #23-29 A.F. & A.M. Of his many nicknames from Cadillac Jack to unofficial Mayor of Centreville, his favorites were Dad and Pop Pop.

Ed was predeceased by Helen, his beloved wife of 64 years. He is survived by his sister, Ella Dolan of Estero, FL, his children, John Charles Frederick of New Haven, CT, Marian Ann Frederick and Edward Maris Frederick, II of Wilmington, DE, and grandchildren Edward Pyle Frederick, II (Nora) and Jennifer Frederick Hill (Freddie).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 12 noon at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 101 Old Kennett Road, Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
