Notes for Thomas Atkinson MERCER

THOMAS ATKINSON "TIM" MERCER, 68, of Moorestown, formerly of Swarthmore, Pa., died Wednesday at home.

Mr. Mercer was the former president and owner of S.L. Graves Co., a printing firm in Bellmawr. He was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce and an active fund-raiser for the United Way. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf, and was an active member and past president of the DMF, a private hunting club. He served in the cavalry as a lieutenant during World War II and, subsequently, in the Army Reserve. In 1969, when the procedure was still relatively new, he underwent a kidney transplant at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. His brother, David, was the donor.

Survivors: his wife, Conard "Connie" Porter Mercer; three sons, Michael G. of Mount Laurel, Thomas A. Jr. of Gilsum, N.H., and William L. of Hampton, N.H.; two daughters, Holly Coyne of McLean, Va., and Emily of Maple Shade; nine grandchildren; a brother, David of Pottstown, Pa., and a sister, Mary Ellen Allen of New Orleans, La.

Services: memorial, 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Moorestown Friends Meeting. Lewis Funeral Home, Moorestown.
