Samuel Howell Jr., merchant, son of Samuel and Sarah (Stretch) Howell. Samuel Howell Jr. "participated early in the dangers and fatigues of the American Revolution, and on a variety of occasions showed himself ready and willing to render service to his country. The integrity of his heart and benevolence of his disposition, endeared him to a large circle of acquaintances." He was buried in Friends' Burial Ground at Frankford.
