Notes for Samuel Franklin LEVIS

He was one of the earliest Paper manufacturers in the United States. In 1827 he went to Mount Holly to engage in business with Bennett and Walton, then the owners of "Mount Holly Mills" and manufacturers of printing and wall papers. He continued with that firm until about 1843, when the mills were destroyed by fire, entailing great loss to Mr. Levis. Some time afterward he resumed the business of manufacturing in Mount Holly.
